SUMMER HISTORY--LOUISVILLE!

JULY 11-16, 2009  PW NATIONAL CONFERENCE!!!!

We have our sight-seeing glasses on today!  We're beginning our Louisville adventure at the PCUSA Headquarters, which is down the block on Witherspoon.  Yesterday, about noon we concluded this wonderful gathering time with a blessed communion with 2,500 of our PW Sisters; afterward, we sang together "God Will Do Wonders Among You."  Think that Rev. Tracy Keenan wrote that just for us; she was the music leader for our time together--wonderful!

We have been able to meet-up with some of our local sisters:  Carolyn Kaufman, Ruth Nawyn, and our PEVA Moderator, Nelda Pressley...who is here with her dear husband, Jim, another Honorary PW Auxiliary member...Nelda is still recovering and using her wheelchair.  Seeing our sisters here reminded us of our beautiful sisters at Grace and within our synod:  God is truly much bigger than all of us and our work together may seem small but extends far beyond our imaginings.  Hearing from those we've helped in New Orleans, the Congo, and all over the world through the Living Waters ministries, really put faces on our PW goals and mission statements.  PW really are forward thinkers and doers.  Our God truly leads and transforms our small individual efforts into big beautiful works that change lives, promote community, and ensure justice for the "least of us."

We truly tried to upload pictures, but tech difficulties beyond our "control" prevented this!  We are bringing pics home and will try from our own computers to put a few here! In the meantime, you may view some photos provided by the gathering at this website:

Thanking you for your work at home while we worked here,

We're Here!

WOW!   WHAT A FANTASTIC GATHERING OF THE MOST AMAZING WOMEN ATTENDEES AND SPEAKERS EXTRAORDINARIE!!!!  We've had music directed by a minister from Ohio who has also written the Gathering song!  We've had scipture and music in several languages and updates on all of our missions, including the Thank Offering taken here of $55,000!  We've just seen the play, PUAH AND THE MIDWIFE CRISIS.  We've talked with Abigail, Leah, and Bathsheba and spent gime in prayer at the Spirituality Center.  God is so very good; we are so blessed.  Inspiring to be a part of such a community of believers who love and serve the Lord...including a dear lady who came from Madagascar.

Catch more adventures of Sondra and Ginny tomorrow!  It's the coffee that keeps us going from 7 until midnight!  Don't want to miss a single event!!!

        Grace and peace,

          Ginny and Sondra
